Job Summary
The Senior Project Manager will oversee the day-to-day project operations and activities on one or multiple projects, including vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, site staff or other project managers/coordinators; will serve as the main point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and consultants; will maintain and endeavor to improve as-sold project margins by implementing effective strategies and proactive planning. The Senior Project Manager will execute contract scopes of work within project budgets and project schedules, using standard operating procedures in support of the overall organization goals, values, and mission.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Manage, coordinate, and communicate ANG shop drawings with client, architect, and internal team members
Integral role in selecting and developing glazing systems that meet or exceed project specifications and design requirements; will also require knowledge in modifying existing systems to meet said criteria
Effective contract review and negotiation skills
Effective and organized review of project bid and “as-sold” documents and Sales recaps
Write, manage, and execute large scope purchase agreements and subcontracts
Developing and maintaining project schedules
Early phase logistics planning with client – sequence planning, delivery schedules, etc.
Mentoring and indirect supervision of Project Coordinator and/or Project Manager staff
Drive and monitor project specific initiatives and planning
Project Management of one or multiple projects simultaneously
Effective delegation of responsibilities
Effective communication to all members of project team; internal and external (all types: in person, telecom, and electronic)
Effective time management skills
High level of project data organization
Sound financial management using planning, systems, and controls
Meet with VP of Project Management weekly for collaborative status report
Collaborate with VP of Project Management on accurate monthly project financial updates and projections
Develops and maintains project specific labor tracking
Works with Superintendent ensuring field operations are meeting labor goals
Full awareness of project schedule, resource requirements, project issues, etc. with ability to clearly identify and communicate these items to VP of Project Management
Excels in all phases of the project lifecycle
Develops and maintains quality control and quality assurance programs for field and shop
Education and Experience
Four-year degree in construction management, civil engineering, business or related degree from a college or university; and/or a minimum of 5 years of related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Curtain wall Industry experience required
Technical skills
Proficiency in MS Office programs, Bluebeam, and Smartsheet
Skilled in accounting/project management software (Spectrum preferred)
Understanding of the manufacturing process and performance characteristics for glass/glass coatings, and aluminum/aluminum finishes
Ability to identify and apply products to applications
Understanding of system capabilities, fabrication, and installation
Ability to perform technical reviews of shop drawings and calculations to ensure air, water, thermal, seismic, acoustic, and structural performance
Proficiency in "just in time" material procurement scheduling
Ability to coordinate job specific performance testing
Ability to coordinate the solution of changed or special site engineering problems
Proficiency in sealant and structural adhesive technologies
Knowledge of fire and smoke containment systems
Knowledge of safety and security glazing requirements
General construction knowledge of safety, organized labor (union), and insurance/bonding
